Driving license
15% discount for unemployed people and those over 60 years of age
The driving license in Spain has a limited validity and must be renewed periodically to ensure the driver meets the physical, psychological, and administrative requirements necessary to continue driving safely.

Special cases
- Expired license: You cannot drive with it, but it can be renewed without penalty.
- EU citizens residing in Spain: They must renew their visas in accordance with Spanish regulations if they have been residing in Spain for more than two years.
- Damaged, stolen, or lost permit: A duplicate may be requested, but not a renewal.
Useful tips
- You can renew up to 3 months before expiration, and no days are lost.
- People over 65 can complete procedures at the DGT without needing an appointment.
- To contact the DGT, you can do so through its website or by calling 060.
- If you have changed your address, during the renewal process at the Center we can change the address you want the Traffic Department to provide for notifications.
- Temporary Authorization it is only valid for driving in Spain , so we recommend that you renew it as soon as possible.
