What is an Official Medical Certificate?

It is a document issued by a licensed medical professional that certifies a person's physical and/or mental health to perform certain activities or comply with legal and administrative requirements.

When is it needed?

It is required in various procedures, such as:

  1. Competitive examinations or entry into security forces (Police, Civil Guard)
  2. Federated sports activities
  3. Specific work or school procedures
  4. Underwater Fishing Licenses
  5. Gunners and Pyrotechnics
  6. Others

Where is it held?

At Driver Recognition Centers (CRC) authorized by the DGT and Health Department.

Step-by-step procedure

  1. Go to the Psychotechnical Test.
  2. Present your DNI/NIE and, if applicable, the documentation for the procedure for which the certificate is being requested.
  3. The doctor performs a physical and/or psychological examination as required:
  4. The doctor completes the Official Medical Certificate and signs it.
  5. It is given to the patient signed and sealed.

Documentation needed

  1. Identity document (DNI/NIE/passport).
  2. The text that the interested party is required to provide and that the doctor must write on the Official Medical Certificate.
  3. The Official Medical Certificate, which can be purchased at any health center, costs approximately 3 to 4 euros.

Validity of the certificate

The validity is always determined by the competent body that requests it from the interested party, however, it is usually between 1 and 3 months.
